T.3S. R.74W. Sec.1
Cumberland Gulch is discussed in
Professional Paper 94. There used to be a mine in the gulch called the Cumberland Mine. The ore of the dump at the Cumberland Mine "was practically identical in character with that of the Lombard vein", a vein of material existing about a quarter mile southeast also within Cumberland Gulch. The Lombard vein "shows one or more narrow seams of galena, sphalerite, chalcopyrite, and pyrite.....According to Mr. H. I. Seaman smelting ore from the Lombard mine averages about $65 per ton and milling ore about $13."
